Pimiento Le Gruyère Grilled Cheese
Just when you think a classic, cheesy grilled cheese couldn't get any better, we did the impossible. This delectably cheesy and creamy pimento grilled cheese is so bold and full of flavor. Sandwiched between to buttery golden bread slices for the most perfect bite. Pair with your favorite amber ale or crisp white wine for the best adult dinner.
Ingredients
| 1 cup | Le Gruyere AOP cheese shredded |
| 4 oz | softened cream cheese |
| 1/4 cup | mayonnaise |
| 1/2 (2 oz) jar | diced pimientos, drained |
| 1 | finely diced small jalapeno |
| 1/4 tsp | garlic powder |
| 1/4 tsp | onion powder |
| pinch of cayenne pepper | |
| 1/2 tsp | kosher salt |
| 4 slices | bread |
| softened butter |
Instructions
- In a medium bowl mix together gruyere cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, pimentos, jalapeno, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne powder, and kosher salt. Mix together until well combined. Taste test and season with more salt accordingly.
- Spread a light layer of butter onto two slices of bread (just one side). On the opposite side, spread on 2-3 tbsp of the pimiento cheese spread. Sandwich the two pieces of bread together.
- Heat a skillet on medium heat for a minute or so. Add in the buttered grilled cheese. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, flip and repeat onto the other side.
